History and Comments: John Humphrey is a Civil War Veteran and I have family pictures in my possesion. I will soon put them on the web. John Humphrey's father, William Humphrey was married more than once. His wife Nancy Stephens was his first wife. I do not have the name of his other wife or other children. His youngest son was named after the man that killed President Lincoln. The story I heard was John Wilkes Booth was a hero to John Humphrey. John Wilkes Booth Humphrey was persecuted as a child, because of his name, and he died at the age of 12. Sarah Jane Humphrey Adams in East Layton, Utah Rt#2, gave me this information in the 1970s.
